442. Your POV is Everything! Part 1
On this episode, Nellie emphasizes the importance of having a strong perspective (POV) in life, suggesting it makes individuals the most valuable players (MVPs).
She argue that a robust mental fitness can help navigate both good and challenging times, using the example of Disney's financial lows despite high attendance.
Nellie also shares their personal mental fitness challenge of aiming for 10,000 steps a day and training for a marathon, despite not being able to engage in hardcore training every day. She highlights the importance of maintaining a positive outlook and being innovative, even when faced with difficulties, and how this mindset can be applied to various aspects of life.
We will touch on:
- The Importance of Perspective in Overcoming Challenges
- Personal Mental Fitness Challenge
- Staying Motivated and Overcoming Obstacles
I want to remind you that your point of view, your POV, is truly what makes you the MVP, the most valuable player when you can have a rock solid point of view most of the time. Doesn't have to be 100% of the time, it changes everything. Your mental fitness will get you through the good times and the challenging times. If you look at any publicly traded company, they have ups and downs, ups and downs. Even when we were in Disney World, we were checking out their financials because we're nerds, and they were at an all time low. But yet, people are all filling up Disney right? But they were still at an all time low. And so in challenging times, is such an opportunity to be innovative, to be positive, to be the bright light, to to get scrappy, to really find how you can truly do what you want to do. And this doesn't just go for business, it goes for anything. So I set up a mental fitness challenge for myself, and I literally just decided I was like 10,000 steps a day. I am not paying attention to my steps, and I'm going to be running a full marathon. So I can't always do hardcore training every single day, but I consistently wear my Apple watch, I could absolutely up my game and pay attention to my steps more. So we are on day three, and it has been so fun, even in three days, to focus on getting it done. Day one was super easy. Day two was super easy. Day three, it was a just today was a crazy day. So I could either use the excuse and be in the point of view of like, uh, like, by the towards the end of the night, I was at like, 7000 steps, which is still great, but I set out to do something. It's still early on in the month, and what I know about myself is like, when I decide I get to like, see it all the way through, I hear Boone crying, ironically, so I'll be right back.
